I didn’t like The Instance of the Fingerpost, ended up abandoning it about two-thirds through. But I think I’m the only one, and I keep meaning to give Pears another try! The only other one of yours I’ve read is Mistress of the Art of Death-it’s super fluffy, but creepy at the end.

I’m a total failure at challenges too and so of course, just joined another one! RIP IV looks so interesting. My vote is for The Strain as your first book (I’ve read that one, plus An Instance of the Fingerpost, from your list.)
