I reread all my favorite books on a regular basis, but I think the only books I'd wish I could have a second first time with would be the LHM. Mostly because I have no idea where those books end and mine/thene's crazy interpretations of them begin any more :)

But I don't think I'd want a second first for many other books; I love how familiar and comforting rereading a favorite is and I'd hate to lose that with my McKinley, and McCaffrey, and Carey books.

Jane Eyre and The Age of Innocence are two of my favorite books, too. I literally read The Age of Innocence in one sitting. I haven't gotten around to answering this week's BTT meme yet, but Jane Eyre was one of the first books to leap to mind.

I definitely agree with you on liking to re-read (at least with some books). I forget little plot points too and continue to discover new things every time I read certain books.
