I love reading historical books based on places I am visiting too. I try to do that a lot before I am vacationing somewhere, like Forence or New Orleans earlier this year.

I throughly enjoyed Skeletons at the Feast. Made me think quite a bit and interesting to read WWII from another perspective.

What a pity that Bosworth Field was such a letdown! But that’s nice that you’ve been having the chance to visit some historical places. I definitely agree that being familiar with the background makes those visits all the more interesting.

Don’t Tempt Me was a DNF for me-I really hated it. It was awful. One can only hope the next book is better.

I don’t make plans on what I want to read lately. I might just go for some manga… maybe not.

I’m anxious to see what you think of The Russian Dreambook of Color and Flight because I really didn’t like it much. And I also want to read Skeletons at the Feast so I’m excited to see what you think of that one too.

Enjoy your time with your parents in a few weeks – for me, it’s always good to see family, especially when you live so far away normally.

All that time in the car sounds like a great time for audio books! The Skeletons at the Feast discussion is on July 11th, since next Sunday is a holiday.
