That’s a wonderful idea. I separate out my “Read and owned” as well as my “Owned but not read” books. Setting aside those I want to read again would hopefully allow me to actually read them again. Good luck!

I reread Anne McCaffrey’s Dragonflight/ Dragonquest/ and the White Dragon most of all. but there are a number of books I go back to when I need to KNOW I will enjoy a certain book.
David Eddings Belgarath series
Margaret Weis/ Tracy Hickman Dragonlance series
Stephen R Donaldsons Thomas Covenant series
..and there are more.. sigh.

I reread The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings every few years. I just can’t help but revisit them.

I'm thinking of re-reading some of Terry Pratchett's earlier discworld books. I just finished off The Last Hero and it occured to me I don't think I remember the ones I read before very well, its been years!

Well, firstly I really need to read some of those books you mentioned to begin with… I have the Ilona Andrews and the first book by Seanan McGuire. I was really excited to read them, but I haven’t had time to yet. I treated myself earlier this year.

Moving on, I really want to reread The Name of the Wind, too. I started Wise Man’s Fear and I think part of the reason I didn’t love it was because I didn’t remember the first book as well as I might. It was good, but I was constantly racking my brain.

I read Dune last year and really really didn’t like it…. I don’t think it matters what my age. Other people love it. I’ll be curious how your reread goes!

We are watching the first season of A Game of Thrones right now. I still haven’t read book 2, but I just wasn’t finding the time, so I gave in and suggested we finally see what it was like.

I like this idea a lot, but it also scares me. You should see how big my TBR stack is. I wonder how long it would be before my re-read stack was just as big.

I don’t keep many books anymore. By many I mean just under 2,000 probably. I only keep books that I think I’ll either re-read one day or use in some other fashion, as reference. And I have a few “collections” that I keep mostly for the bindings, the pictures or the cover art.

This is a great post — I have actually been toying with the idea of writing about re-reading myself, lately. Oh how I wish I had the time to re-read more books!

I would love to re-read Graceling and Fire before I start Bitterblue, and I am going to do my best to try and do just that. I’d love to re-read Maria V. Snyder’s Poison Study trilogy. I’d also like to re-read the Terry Brooks Shannara books, as I have some of the more recent books sitting unread on my TBR bookshelf. At some point, I would also like to re-read Terry Goodkind’s Sword of Truth books, but with 11 of them, that would be quite an undertaking and probably won’t happen for some time.

I have the first three books in Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series sitting on my TBR bookshelf, myself. Wonder when I’ll get around to reading those? Really, the more I think about it, the more I feel like I need to stop accepting books for review and just work on my TBR bookshelf so I can do more re-reading, ha!
