I'm really not a fan of Sedaris in print at all. I think this is the book of his that I read and I was very 'meh' about the whole thing. This is actually, probably, my favorite of his works so far. I did listen to it on audio back when I was driving 40 minutes each way to and from work. I laughed so hard at times that I almost drove off the road. Good luck with more of his stuff! I haven't read Naked yet, but I hear endless good things about it. This is one of my favorite books and one that I have loaned out many times. I think it's probably the best Sedaris out there, although Naked is a really great book too. I am trying to collect all his books and get my husband to read them as well. I found Sedaris humerous at some points but overall I have not been that drawn to the collections of his that I've read. I have found Augusten Burroughs to be much funnier when I am looking for a collection of funny stories. I read another one of Sedaris' books--not this one--and had a similar experience. I read the first few essays, and while I thought he was a really good writer, I didn't really find it funny. To me, so much of how one reacts to a humor book depends upon one's mood while reading it.
