Though you were a little disappointed with it, your review has really intrigued me about this book. I like to read about seedy places and times so there seems like a lot for me to like in this book. I don’t know if I would be crazy about a character who doesn’t seem to grow, but the premise of this book is enticing to me nevertheless. Thanks for the excellent review. I am going to have to check it out!

Well, you have to admit that’s an unusual setting. Sounds like a little too much soap opera for me, though.

I know I’ve seen this one somewhere before, so I was glad you posted about it. I am drawn to books about the Pacific Northwest, but I think I might pass on this one.

I agree about the ending. It was tied up a little too neatly for my taste.

I want to read this one now just to see if I feel the same way as you do about the ending. Plus, I am interested to see how the character portrayed at two different ages works out–it sounds like there may have been a few issues.
