I have this one, and still haven’t managed to read it yet, which makes me a little annoyed. There is just so much to do, and so many books to get read in such a short space of time! I wonder if I, too, will react the way that you did with this one. In the past, I have really enjoyed Sherry Jones’ books, so I am wondering if this will be the exception, or if I will feel differently. Very honest and intelligent review today. I enjoyed reading your experiences with the book.

It’s difficult when a book isn’t good but you know you can’t blame the author. It begs the question of whether a better time period/place could have been chosen, yet it’s important to hear from all people in history. A catch-22 really. I’m guessing the cycle you discuss affected how much time could be spent on the more interesting sections. Overall the idea of four queens sounds really good, but I’d have to go with your opinion on this one.
