I really need to pick up the Deanna Raybourn books. Everyone speaks so highly of them. I've really enjoyed reading the Emily Ashton series - I love how intelligent and determined she is. I really enjoyed this one and read it even though I didn't read the first one. I recently went back and read the first one, and didn't care for Emily too much, so I'm glad I read them out of order. I like that Emily tries to be her own woman in a society that doesn't want her to. I have the first book in this series, but have not read it yet. I bought it knowing little about it other than what was on the back cover, but it looks like this is a winning series.
