I read one of Jo Walton’s books a while ago and really liked it! I meant to read more of her work but haven’t yet actually done so.

That is a great recommendation! The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Society was one of my favorite reads, too. This books sounds like a great coming of age story.

I have heard from others that this book is beyond magical, and the way you expressed your love for it today was quite impressive and beautiful. I clearly need to read this book. I think it might be just the thing I need in my life right now. Excellent and thoughtful review today.

Beautiful review, Meghan. I loved this book too. I think my favourite thing about it was how well Walton chronicled Mori’s intellectual development through her reading. I remember being her age and encountering certain ideas for the very first time in books, and how those things WERE momentous life events even though most people wouldn’t think of them as such.
