I read these first, so my giant girlcrush on Cordelia was what cemented my love for this series. It’s been a long time, though, so I really want to go back and re-read them… I had a little problem in Shards of Honor keeping all of the Vor____ names straight, so now that I’m more familiar with Barrayaran history and where all of the characters go, I’d like to see how my opinions have changed.

Also, I bet Aral will grow on you. I don’t love him *quite* as much as I do Cordelia, but he’s still pretty awesome.

I really struggle with the order to read this series in. I have got Shards of Honor out from the library and Falling Free which I thought was one of the first ones too. I intend to start the series soon and expect to love it!

Not all women like Cordelia, and I admit I’m amongst those who don’t. I did not consider her decision to abandon her own nation for a man to be an honourable one. She willing joins a society in which she is forced to be subservient and in which women are devalued.

Just proves, not everyone enjoys the same books. Obviously, a lot of people like them.

I remember reading and being intrigued by your review for Young Miles, and have to say that this book sounds like it would be a great companion to that one. It seems as if this has been a great series for you to have found and that you are enjoying it immensely. I am still thinking about giving Young Miles a try. Great review today!
