I have just finished reading Ellis Island. I agree with the review. I found the storyline predictable and that in itself was a disappointment. Promised much but just didn’t deliver.

Too bad on this. There is so much about this book that I think I would love, but the disappointing ending would probably ruin it for me.

I do like reading stories about places I’ve actually been (and we went to Ellis Island over the summer), but I will have to pass on this one after reading your review.

Your review makes me wonder why they gave it that title. A lousy ending can ruin a book for me.

After reading this review, I am forced to conclude that I might also not appreciate the ending, so I think I will skip this one and read Brooklyn instead. Thanks for your honest thoughts on this book!

Sounds like the title could definitely be misleading. I own Brooklyn, so I will definitely be reading that first, but this book catches my attention too.
