"Though Butler doesn’t shy away from uncomfortable situations, it sounds like she treats them with care." This is the perfect way to describe Butler.

Thanks so much for reviewing this! I loved Fledging, too, and it's always great to see more people reading Butler.

I have read quite a few reviews of this book, and really want to get the chance to read it. Though Butler doesn't shy away from uncomfortable situations, it sounds like she treats them with care. I really enjoyed your review, as it highlighted different things than most have. Excellent job!

Interesting that there's a sort of double dose of difference, in her skin colour and the nature of her vampire-self. The blood connections between people of different races and the way the racism occurs is an interesting subject. Considering that I've already got a number of books on my list thanks to this tour I'm pretty glad to hear this is short (and works well in the time).
