I want to read this one, and just from the excerpts that you posted here, I feel that this one is one that will be amazingly impressive to me. I like the premise and the main character seems to be one of strength and courage. I need to find this one!!

I’ve seen it about, but judged it’s cover and thought it’d have to go on the someday classics list. I didn’t actually see that the face was half cat, now I’m intrigued.

I read the story this is based on, in At the Mouth of the River of Bees, and am looking forward to reading the novel even more, now. My daughter will be bringing it home from college May 19, so I’ll have to wait another month.

I’m so, so happy you loved it! For what it’s worth, I read this before The Fox Woman too and I don’t think it made a difference. Both are brilliant, and the latter even more so.
