I’m currently reading his second book — The Clouds Beneath the Sun — but it’s a little slow going and some of the dialogue feels awkward. It takes place in Kenya in the 60s on an archeological dig. It has a lot of potential but it’s not grabbing me.

I am sorry to hear that this one was not what you were expecting. It does sound kind of interesting, but I don’t think I would like Hal either, and unsatisfying endings drive me nuts! I think I will probably skip this one, but I did appreciate reading your thoughts!

Despite the issues you had with this one, I think I am going to give it a shot. The storyline really interests me!
