I am like you, though, in that while I love fantasy, it’s hard to commit to the epic tomes these days! However, I have many on my shelves, so hopefully some time I will decide to return to them. I am reading a “classic” fantasy now that is much shorter and I’m quite happy with it, though it’s in such a different style than modern fantasy!

I am now looking for more books of that nature, so I am going to have to check out this series to see if it is what I am looking for. Great review on this one, I am glad to hear that you mostly liked it (except for the parts on the boats).
