I didn’t realise they move from town to country, which is a pretty abrupt change even if you’ve lived in England your whole life. Interested to see how the author characterises the different areas and their attitudes to the family. I think you’re right that it’s so different when you’re all alone somewhere new, than when you’re surrounded by people who remember everything about the home you’ve originally come from.
