I’ve been meaning to read Guy Gavriel Kay for ages. Never quite knew where to start! Where SHOULD I start, since he’s a favorite of yours?

Oh, good to know about the slow pacing! While I enjoyed Under Heaven, I didn’t LOVE it. For some reason, I feel like Kay is becoming more pretentious as he ages; he just seems so in love with his own writing style and it can get annoying to me. I prefer his older novels to his newer ones.

Hahaha, you know, people LOVE Guy Gavriel Kay, and I enjoyed Tigana, but there is really a lot of introspection in it. I think he’s not exactly me.

I really want to read this. I am thinking maybe audio because Simon Vance narrates it. Which means I kind of want to reread Under Heaven because he also narrates that one and I read it the first time. Goals that I am not sure I will get to in 2014, but would be nice!

Well I’m one those people who likes fantasy but never heard of Kay. I bet I’d like the mix of history, mysticism, and fantasy.
