This sounds like just the type of historical fiction that I enjoy. I am going to see if I can grab a copy very soon, as I am right in the middle of a historical fiction binge. Great review, I will let you know what I think of it.

I do love Chadwick, but ever since I read the Greatest Knight I have been unsure on what to read next, since that book didn’t do it at all for me. But this one sounds good

I read only one book by EC and was a little disappointed. I’ve been hesitant to try anything else from her since then. Maybe this could be an interesting try!

It’s 564 pages – so not the biggest book I’ve ever read, but definitely qualifies for chunkster status!

I’ve loved all of Chadwick’s books. This one and its companion, Lords of the White Castle, about the son of the characters in Shadows and Strongholds — two of my favorites.

I really should read Chadwick. The romance parts of her books are probably like the Outlander books — way more in them than the typical romance.
