I am a fan of both Emily Ashton and the Lady Julia Grey series! And really, one should read both.

I love Emily Ashton. The first book was my favorite in the series. I haven’t read any of the Lady Julia Grey series but think I will try to get around to it.
I must admit, I loved Emily better when she was widowed. But I am a widow too, and it gets lonely so I can understand why she got married.

I agree with your assessment of this book. I’m not even sure that I will finish the series. Have you read DeAnna Raybourn’s Lady Julia Grey novels? They’re amazing!

I have a love/notlove relationship with this series. Loved the 2nd book, but recently finished the 3rd, and found it was just alright. Nothing to excite me too much. Will definitely read this one though, because I am hoping to reignite my love for the series. Thanks for the good honest review

I was a fan of this series, but this book did absolutely nothing for me. I thought it was improbable and by marrying them off the author lost all the chemistry between the two main characters. This is something that Deanna Raybourn managed to do much better at.

Because I find it incredibly difficult to stop reading a series, there is every chance I will read the next book, but not with anywhere near as much anticipation.

I kind of want to read this series just because the author’s name is Tasha, but it sounds like all the books tend to get a little draggy and you know how I am about draggy books.

I haven’t read the series so I can’t say this one wouldn’t say my opinion based on he other two but it sounds like the whole shebang might be worth checking out. :O)

It sounds like this one was rather good! I also think that it would be interesting to read about a Victorian woman’s fear of childbirth, as I know that if I were around during that time, I would be scared to death. It is true that a lot of the pregnancies during that time were rather ill-fated, and I really like the fact that the author chose to explore this in her book. Fabulous review!
