This sounds like a really interesting book, and I had not heard mention of this series until now. Your review really intrigues, and I think I'd like to know more. I will have to do some digging on this book and see if it would be a good fit for me. Thanks!

I've had a copy of this one on my TBR shelf for awhile now, but haven't managed to get to it. It does sound intriguing. Hopefully the world buiding will be more fully developed in later books. Thanks for your great review, Meghan!

Interesting - the second review I've read today that found this one just so-so. I've been wondering about picking this one up, but I think I'm going to take a pass.

He calms down a bit in the rest of the series, without letting things get lazy. It becomes really quite powerful as it rumbles on.

I read this a few weeks ago (my review will be going up tomorrow), and I was under-impressed. It was one of those cases where I felt like I should like it, but I just never connected with it at all. I took the second and third books off of my TBR pile, but I'll wait to see if you think the series improves before I actually get rid of them.

The series must be pretty good if you're interested enough to continue with. I'll be watching to see what you think of the rest of it.

This is a completely new-to-me trilogy. You've gotten my interest here: the very little magic, the spare details on the landscape/world, the good action. I'll add this to my LT wish list right now!

Hhhmmm, I haven't heard of this book at all but from what you're saying it sounds interesting enough to give it a try. Besides I enjoy fantasy that's not necessarily a YA one which nowadays the reading world seems to be flooded with. I'll keep this on my wish list.
