I actually really didn’t like The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society but it was because of the book, not the place, so I would definitely be willing to read other books set there. This one sounds like it would be more to my liking.

I picked up an ARC of this a while ago without really reading the blurb. I might need to move it up my TBR list.

Have you read War on the Margins by Libby Cone? That also is set in the Islands I believe.

As you know, I did my doctoral research in Guernsey in 1984 and lived there for the better part of a year. I loved the island and its people and love reading fiction and nonfiction about Guernsey and the Channel Islands.

This does sound rather interesting, especially the relationship between the protagonist and the German soldier. I haven’t read anything from that angle yet, and while it does sound interesting, it also sounds a little controversial. This is a great review of a book that I might want to check out.
