I thought this was a good book – very compelling read. But I was bothered by the writing too. Some details could have been removed.

I can’t make up my mind about this book. I think I am just going to have to read it and hope for the best… I was curious about it in the beginning, but skimming reviews have sort of worried me. This is why I shouldn’t read reviews of books I have intentions of reading!

This book puts me in mind of Muslim Women Reformers, which I recently read. It really is so hard to imagine what the women of these countries are suffering, but I find that when I am reading about it, it ups my sense of empathy and anger for the tremendously. This was a great review of a book that I would really love to check out some time. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it.

I thought this one was very good as well, though I, too, would have appreciated a little more big-picture details! It was a simple story, and that worked well in some ways, but left me wanting in others.
