I hate to disillusion you here but not all us are that much in love with the “ideal of England” whatever that may be.

Still looks like an interesting book for those who do write about or are interested in English village life. I’m just not one of them.

I have never heard of this book before – but it is now going to the top of the list!

I have great plans of one day living in an English village – if only for a month or so. This armchair visit will have to do for now

My idea of English villages and village life came mainly from Joanna Trollope! Love them.

I bet this would be the perfect book for me, as I have a little fantasy about moving house and setting myself up in a little English village. It sounds like this book has so many wonderful aspects to love, and I can’t wait to get a look at it! This was a great review, thanks for sharing it!

We never made it to any English villages – just a Irish one. I think I should read the book and then come back to make a comparison!
