I have a copy of this book but haven’t had time to start reading it yet, so I’m glad to hear you enjoyed it! I agree that there aren’t many novels set during this period – I can only think of one or two others that I’ve read.

As someone else said, I would never have picked up this novel based on the title, but your description makes it sound very worth reading. And I do like that it’s not yet another royal family story and it’s in a period of history not much written about in England. You will find some during the period set in Scotland written by Nigel Tranter but not even many of those. I’ll pick this one up.

Oh, this book does sound incredibly interesting, and like something that would really keep me invested. I also have not read a book set in this time period or about this subject, and your review really really piqued my interest. So much so that I have already begun looking for it at the library!

I don’t think I ever seen a book set in Puritan England, let alone read one, may have to keep this in mind.

I would never have picked this one up just looking at the title and the cover but now I know that it’s largely about women’s rights, I definitely want to read it. So thanks for the review.
