I have to get hold of this book. I well remember feeling like I didn’t fit in anywhere when we lived in France. My mother is first generation American and I’ve always heard stories about my grandparents’ and their struggles.

I owned this one for quite a while as well before I finally got to it last summer. It was a slow read for me but quite powerful. Would love to hear more about your experiences living abroad!

I absolutely loved this one too! Her short stories are quite fantastic, you should definitely pick those up too!

This is one of those that had so much hype when it came out that I never felt the urge to pick it up, though I’ve read some of Lahiri’s short stories and been impressed with the writing. Maybe it’s time for this to come off the shelf…

I loved this book so much, and the movie version wasn’t bad either. If you liked this, I would totally recommend her short stories to you. I had a very positive reaction to them as well. Great review on this one today! I loved it!
