I have this one to review, but I’ve read a few “meh” reviews like yours. (Meaning that people don’t love the book, but that your review is bad, ha!) I think I’ll continue to put this one off.

Well, at first this book sounded pretty interesting, but I’m sure there are better books about 19th-century NYC out there.

I’ve read mostly mixed reviews of this one and am not sure yet if it’s one I would like to read. The premise sounds interesting enough. I am glad you enjoyed it on some level, even if you didn’t love it.

I also think this book sounds rather interesting, but I admit that I don’t think I would like the arrogance of the main character. I am going to have to try to get ahold of this book and give the first chapter a read. Thanks for the great review!
