I don’t read much historical fiction anymore sadly, but this is exactly the type of book I would enjoy when I feel like reading it. I’m taking notes for future references.

I just ordered this on on audio the other day from the library, and I am anxiously awaiting it. I love really finely tuned historical fiction, and since I know virtually nothing about Catherine the Great, it should be an excellent read for me. So, so glad that you loved it!

Sounds like an interesting read, if I read it I would also be learning something as Catherine the Great is someone I know little to nothing about.

I read Catherine the Great and then this — I was pleased to see that Stachniak followed the facts of Catherine’s life and I liked the perspective of Barbara.
