Great review. I was so touched by both women in this book and how they dealt with there dilema that was a tragic scenario for all. I just couldn’t imagine putting myself in either one of their places.

I liked the way you described this:
“I really enjoyed Johanna Moran’s writing, and I found the whole book smooth and atmospheric”

The historical reference that Moran used as a basis for her book made this even more compelling.

I think the thing that won me over was the historical nature of the novel. And then Moran wrote a great guest post for me about how the case had intrigued her whole family — that was fascinating too.

I’m surprised you hadn’t read this book earlier! This book doesn’t sounds like something I would like, but it does sound like an awesome idea for a novel.

I have seen this book around a bit but didn’t really know what it was about. This sounds fascinating. I don’t really know anything about New Zealand but I’m sure that this book would inspire me to do a little outside research of my own. Love it when a book does that!

Oh, I loved this book so much! I thought the story of the two very different women in Henry’s life was just so interesting. They were so very different, and the author didn’t really play favorites with either one of them. I am so glad that you liked the book! It’s one that’s managed to stay fresh in my mind long after I was finished. Great review!

Honestly, this book never really appealed to me, but then I read all these wonderful reviews of it and had to rethink things. I’ve decided I definitely have to pick this one up at some point.
