It sounds like she made her decision for the wrong reasons. This sounds like a very compelling book.

I haven’t read any books in Korea and I realize that Korean women have it rough, but I can’t say that a novel in which the protagonist passively accepts her life to become a better person has much appeal for me. But that’s me. I’m sure it will appeal to many.

I picked this up, put it down, picked it up, put it down…and eventually left the bookstore yesterday without buying it. Now I wish I’d forked over the money for it! Great review. I think I need to read this one.

I have this book and am really excited about reading it. I love that the protagonist doesn’t spend all her time whining about things she can’t change, but makes the best of things, and spends time reflecting. It sounds as if this will be a winner for me. Loved this review today!

Wow!!! Sounds like a winner. I’m not sure I’ve read many (any?) books set in Korea, mix a new setting with great characters and great writing, and I’m in!
