It's funny that you mention the love factor and what draws two people together. I'm also reading my first Hoyt at the moment (also sent to me), and unlike other romance novels, am struggling with the "what the heck" factor behind how they even started liking one another. It's interesting that it plays out in this other novel by her. I'll have to check out other reviews to see if this is a common motif. Thanks for pointing this out in your review!

I agree with your thoughts with respect to the romance aspects of romance books. They have to make a little bit of sense, or be somewaht believable. Good honest review.

I am not a big fan of this series, to say the least. I'm very happy Hoyt will be starting a new one soon.

How many books do you read a week, Megan? I'm in awe of how fast you pump out these reviews! They're great by the way! I love historical fiction so I'm enjoying your opinions.

Best wishes,
Christine

Yes, that's often such a huge problem for me: lust = love. I think I'll pass on this series.

Shame it was such a disappointment. I have to say though, the cover doesn't make it look particularly promising!
