This sounds like a fascinating read! I too thought that most European countries (other than Germany) were founded long a go but on watching the TV show The Borgias I realised Italy once was made of many lands. I would really like to read more about this.

That’s quite scary that some countries have been almost forgotten, good that they are covered here if only brieftly. This sounds the sort of book that launches the reader into research, interesting you before you go off to read more. I’ll have to have a look for it.

This sounds really good! I will definitely look into it. I wish he would start a series that looked at lost kingdoms of Asia and Africa and South America, too – I think they’d all be really good!
