I’m so glad you liked it, Meghan! I thought the focus on history was very interesting too. And I love how the twist made me realise that I still tend to assume that, er, certain things about people are the default – which I hate, but there you go. I appreciate the fact that Meg Rosoff made me realise just how prevalent those assumptions are.

I've loved Rosoff's writing in all the books I've read by her so far. I like the fact each has a unique voice and style, and yet are still undeniably Rosoff... What a great review, Meghan! Have you ever read the graphic novel Skim? It hits on similar themes from a female perspective and I think it would be a great complement to this novel!

I think I’ll stick to How I Live Now before reading this one. The premise doesn’t strike me as much with this one, although it seems like this book leaves you with a lot to think about.

Nope, they are totally different and not related at all! I don’t know if any of her books are connected. I don’t think so but I’m sure someone else can correct me if I’m wrong.
