I probably would have passed this up if it weren't for this review. Nicely done. I love it when an author is able to capture those teen feelings.

I'm so glad you liked it, Meghan! I thought the focus on history was very interesting too. And I love how the twist made me realise that I still tend to assume that, er, certain things about people are the default - which I hate, but there you go. I appreciate the fact that Meg Rosoff made me realise just how prevalent those assumptions are.

I've loved Rosoff's writing in all the books I've read by her so far. I like the fact each has a unique voice and style, and yet are still undeniably Rosoff...

With this one I really liked the mood and pacing throughout it, melancholy is probably the wrong word, but it really suited the characters and story.

What a great review, Meghan! Have you ever read the graphic novel Skim? It hits on similar themes from a female perspective and I think it would be a great complement to this novel!

I liked your review and do have a copy of How I Live Now on the shelf, just waiting for me! I am glad to hear that there is another book from Rosoff that I will most likely enjoy as well!

I think I'll stick to How I Live Now before reading this one. The premise doesn't strike me as much with this one, although it seems like this book leaves you with a lot to think about.
