This sounds so good! I read and loved the first 3 books of the Sevenwaters series, they count amount my favorite books of all time. I'll have to read this, too, at some point. Thanks for a great review!

This book sounds atypical from those that I normally read, but the premise sounds like something I might enjoy. In the new year I am hoping to broaden the genres I read, so this will be going on my list. I hope I end up enjoying it as much as you did!

I loved Wolfskin too! Juliette Marillier is one of my favorite authors as well. I feel like her books make me forget all reality and are just absorbing, heart and soul.

Like your other commenters so far, I haven't read anything by this author. I do like the sound of this book though.

It's always interesting to read an author's backlist after reading something more current. Sometimes I like to start with an author's earlier works first so I can watch their progress over time. Doesn't always work that way, of course.
