OMG this is exactly my kind of book. I have read a bit about China — some historical fiction, some nonfiction — and it’s always fascinating. Thanks for bringing this one to my attention. I hadn’t heard of it before.

Ooh, this sounds fabulous! I agree that the subtitle is a little too melodramatic for me. What is WITH history subtitles these days always somehow bringing some sort of scandal to draw attention?

Oh, this does sound like a really enthralling book! I have not read much about Empress Wu, but it sounds like she had a fascinating life. I am going to have to try this book. Thanks for the great review and I am glad you liked it so much!
