I went on a bit of a Zelda binge a little while ago, and her story is so heartbreaking (have you read about how she died?) I really, really recommend Bobbed Hair And Bathtub Gin– it’s non-fiction about women writers in the 1920s, and it offers tons of insight into Zelda’s erratic behaviour. The biography Zelda is fantastic, too.

I recently listened to a podcast on Zelda Fitzgerald and it was so interesting. I didn’t know that she had so many issues and that the marriage was THAT rocky. This sounds like it would be right up my alley.

This sounds like a fascinating read. I won a beautiful set of F.Scott Fitzgerald’s work can’t wait to read them this year as haven’t read any of them before.

I want to read this so much. I’ve been fascinated with her for some time, even though I didn’t know all that much. This is a fantastic review, and I definitely want this one as soon as possible.

I have only ever seen fictional portrayals of Zelda, and from what I saw, she was a handful, but this seems not to be the case. You are right when you say that living under the shadow of a great man had to be monotonous and I have a feeling that it probably contributed to her mental illness. This was a great review, by the way. I love that the book called out so much passion in you.

I recently read The Beautiful and Damned by Scott Fitzgerald and couldn’t help but feel a lot of inspiration for the heroine was taken from Zelda. I wonder how Zelda felt about being portrayed in such an unflattering way? It must have been quite humiliating, I think.
