I think that is because I have struggled to connect to characters in a lot of science fiction novels which is something really important to me. It is nice to hear that this is a series with some likeable and relatable characters.

(I’ve also read stuff that proved me right, like the first The Lost Fleet book and Sheepfarmer’s Daughter, which is military fantasy, but my point stands.)

But I like Tanya Huff’s books (the few that I’ve read, anyways), and if you say that it’s character-focused, I’m in.
