This book sounds like something I would like, but I really need to start with the first one and work my way there. I am glad that your older self appreciated it and I enjoyed your balanced and thoughtful review!

My daughter (9) has read all of the Anne of Green Gables series, and has moved onto all the other books by LM Montgomery. She just absolutely loves them, which thrills me! We just purchased her novel ‘The Story Girl’ and are hoping it is as good as she hopes!

I haven’t read these books, just saw the TV series, but I remember being so impressed that Anne seemed like an adult at 17! I still don’t feel like an adult most of the time.
