I don’t think it changed my reading habits much, either, but then I was never into terrorist-driven plots.

I am with you. In fact I read more about such stuff, mainly non-fiction, when something like this happens. May be because I want to get into their minds or situations and really know what makes them do what they do.

I agree that books can help us understand things better. I was 28 in 2001 and have always been the kind of person to educate myself about the world around me so 9/11 didn’t really change me in that way.

I am a firm believer that we need to read about the Holocaust, terrorism and everything evil that is happening in the world. Brushing it aside does not make it go away. We need to undrstand the whys and hows of it. For someone who lives under the threat of terrorism, I have a lot to say about this issue. However, you know that already. Villainy is not the right word

Yes, I think I tend to live in the past a little more than I should, too.
I try to curb that tendency, but I’m going against a lifetime habit!

I agree that history is easier to read than a recording of something this painful.
