It’s a week or two later than you’d expect, and it may be almost a trite question, but … what were your favorite books from 2008?
Well, I already compiled a list! With packing and getting ready to fly tomorrow, I don’t have time to make a new one. So, here it is again in case you missed it the first time:
- The Well of Ascension, Brandon Sanderson
- Ptolemy’s Gate, Jonathan Stroud
- Kushiel’s Mercy, Jacqueline Carey
- The Hours, Michael Cunningham
- Nefertiti and The Heretic Queen, both by Michelle Moran
- When We Were Romans, Matthew Kneale
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
- The Hero and the Crown, Robin McKinley
- Bel Canto, Ann Patchett
I haven’t read any of these, but several are on my TBR list. Glad to see you enjoed them.
I loved the Michelle Moran books but I haven’t read any of the rest of these.
That’s a really good list of books. I’m interested in Bel Canto, Ptolemy’s Gate an When We Were Romans. Where to start?!
I’ve got to get to the Michelle Moran books – they’re in the bookcase right beside me.
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society was such an unexpected great read. I resisted for months afraid that it could not possibly live up to all the hype, but then loved it.
I’m so glad you liked the Guernsey book and Bel Canto. I haven’t read your others though I do have a copy of The
Hours waiting on my shelves. I best get to it if it’s that good. These lists are such fun to read.
