BBAW nominations!

bookbloggerbutton2.jpgThank you so much to all who nominated me for best history/historical fiction blog!  I know that I don’t exclusively read history or historical fiction, but they are where my heart is and where I try to focus most of my reading.  I’m just thrilled to be nominated.  I never expected it!

Of course, many of my favorite book blogs have also been nominated, including many of the ones that I submitted myself!  You can check out the list here, and don’t forget to vote! You can do that here. Please consider me when you’re voting! I’m just happy to be there, but I’m not going to deny that I’d love to win. ;)

Finally, huge thanks go out to Amy for putting together this whole event. I bet she hasn’t had any time to sleep, let alone read, thanks to this amazing event, and we all know just how hard that is. Thank you, Amy!

An Award and A Giveaway

excellent
Jen at Devourer of Books has very kindly selected me for the Excellence in Blogging Award! Here’s what she says about my blog:

“Originally I was a bit intimidated by Meghan’s blog – the name at least, I was envisioning exclusively medieval-period book reviews, or at least medieval period historical fiction reviews. However, I have grown to love her style and the books she chooses. It always makes me happy to see a post from her in my google reader.”

Thank you so much, Jen!

And the giveaway – The Literate Housewife is holding a contest to herald the new opening of her online book club. You can enter here for a chance to win her first selection, Immortal by Traci Slatton. I’m excited to read this and to participate in her book club, whether I win or not!

I’ve been nominated!

S. Krishna at S. Krishna’s Books has very kindly nominated me for my first blog award. Yay! She’s nominated me because I have “Similar reading tastes to mine, and the reviews are great!”. Thanks!

brillante

Here are the rules:

1. Put the logo on your blog.
2. Add a link to the person who awarded you.
3. Nominate at least seven other blogs.
4. Add links to those blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message for your nominee on their blog.

My nominees:

Kathleen’s Book Reviews – I always enjoy reading Kathleen’s reviews and I’m very grateful to her for commenting frequently when I was just trying to get my blog “out there”.

Devourer of Books – Jen writes great reviews on a frequent basis and she’s often reading historical fiction, which I love.

Creative Writing, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Medieval History – Talk about the same interests as me! Steven always comes up with fascinating posts.

Passages to the Past – Amy is a new blogger, but I can already tell her blog is where I’m going to go for my future historical fiction recommendations.

Joy’s Blog – Another blog that I really enjoy reading! Joy’s posts are always interesting.

The Boston Bibliophile – Marie’s reading tastes are different enough from mine that I can get really new and different recommendations from her wonderful reviews.

Discere – My friend Josh doesn’t post very often, but when he does, I particularly enjoy reading his historical rants. Definitely a blog to check out for those of us who love history.
