Yes, you’d have to train the horse to wear this stuff. But apart from the fact that you wouldn’t want to lose your horse in the middle of a battle, they were EXPENSIVE! You could buy a mansion in the exclusive suburbs today for what a horse cost to own, train, feed, care for. If that meant protecting it from injury, so be it.
