Thanks to the new FTC regulations, I am required to disclose when I get review copies. I normally do this by tagging the post “review copy”. I have realized that my tags are not visible through feed readers, so I will be mentioning in posts whether a book is a review copy from now on. If I don’t say where it came from, it’s either a library or owned book. These distinctions can also be found in the tags.
Secondly, if a link from my blog goes to a bookstore of some variety, such as Amazon, then I am earning a small fee for each purchase. To put this in perspective, I have been linking to Amazon for more than a year and have only made $20. I would not like to put formal ads on the site and my Amazon Associates fee is a tiny perk that enables me to receive a couple of extra books to review per year. If this bothers you, please do not use the links.
